Het is een klein maar heel sfeervol restaurant. De avond dat wij er waren had men 36 gasten wat voor dit restaurant heel veel is. (normaal 30 plaatsen). Toch hebben wij hier helemaal niets van gemerkt. De bediening zorgde er voor dat je het aan niets ontbrak. De wijnen in het wijnarangement (€ 14 voor 3 gangen) pass...

Toch hebben wij hier helemaal niets van gemerkt. De bediening zorgde er voor dat je het aan niets ontbrak. De wijnen in het wijnarangement (€ 14 voor 3 gangen) passen goed bij de gerechten. En het eten was heerlijk op 1 klein minpuntje na. Sommige van de geserveerde broodjes hadden een wel heel harde korst. Hoewel ze vers waren.
In dit restaurant krijg je geen amuse van het huis maar een heel gerechtje van het huis. Heerlijk als opwarmertje. Waar veel restaurants nog al eens uit de bocht vliegen met de drankenprijzen geldt dat voor dit restaurant niet. We hebben weer een prima avond gehad.

Eerste keer dat we bij Herberg Stadt Stevensweert hebben gegeten en over het algemeen was het de moeite waard. Echter m.b.t. het wijnarrangement moet ik opmerken dat de uitleg over de wijnen iets uitgebreider had gemogen, daarnaast werd de dessertwijn pas geserveerd toen ik het dessert al had genoten.

Herberg Stevensweert is located on the market in the core of picturesque Stevensweert. In the heart of Central Limburg, on the island in the river Meuse.
Marcus Schmidt has been cooking the stars from heaven here since 1996. His wife Pascalle ensures that the people in the restaurant lack nothing.
Based on French cuisine, using vegetables from his own vegetable garden and buying in a lot from local suppliers, Marcus creates a varied menu that also caters to guests' vegetarian and vegan needs.
If you are a lover of asparagus, this is definitely the place to be. The asparagus from Central Limburg are unique and taste delicious! Chef Marcus likes to introduce you to the 'white gold' in his carefully composed menu.
Pascalle and Marcus aim to give everyone who visits Herberg Stevensweert an unforgettable experience. This is reflected in the ratings they receive: Herberg Stevensweert is the only restaurant in Limburg to be awarded the Bib Gourmand for 15 years in a row. It has also been awarded 13 Gault Millau points. An achievement of which Pascalle and Marcus are justly proud.
